Value for money - though good lift standard with giving bathroom a good clean. Location was good - close to everything though a bit noisy on the Saturday night.

Good value accommodation
This property is an old wool store that has been converted into apartments. It is a rather strangely configured building with rooms on outer walls, and central suspended bridgeway connecting lifts/stairwell to the rooms. This inner area is an open central cavity going from ground level all the way to the top floor (level 10) of the building, so it can be quite noisy, and may alarm those scared of heights if they look down from the bridge-ways.
Rooms though are excellent: spacious, clean, well equipped. I stayed in a 4-star studio, which had a well equipped kitchen, king-size bed, 40-inch LCD TV with Foxtel, dinning table and two chairs, plus ensuite shower, toilet and laundry. Also an excellent location just 5 mins walk away from Darling Harbour. At 0 per night, very good value given its convenient close-to-city location. Only negatives are a chronically slow WiFi system (which is a rip-off at per 24 hrs use) and long waiting times for the lifts.

The Novotel Manly Pacific is in a fantastic spot, easy transport, lots of shopping, easiest beach access. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are superb with many things on offer. Great bar downstairs with excellent atmosphere.
MUST use the ferries over to the city, great price and they run all day. Lots of restaurants, tappas bars, lounge bars to choose from. Overall beautiful place to stay and relax.

Enjoyable weekend in Sydney
Clean, comfortable room. Especially pleased with 'kitchen' area, (did not have to boil the kettle in the bathroom or wash up mugs and glasses in basin) and microwave very useful for baby's bottle and food. Breakfast very nice--good choice of hot and cold food. Pancakes very popular with grandson! Parking close by, and secure, although swipe card sometimes did not work. Staff at reception always very courteous and helpful.
All in all, a very nice place to stay and we certainly would stay again;next time perhaps a room facing the lawn area?
Rain put an end to a few planned activities, but a train trip to the city and then to the QVB meant that we only got wet walking back to the car at Epping. Of course, the Monday we had to go home was fine and sunny and MUCH warmer than Canberra! Never mind, we will come again.

Forget it
What a shock to return to my native country and stay in such a forlorn and badly serviced accomodation. Having to drag my very heavy suitcase up a flight of stairs as there was no elevator or assistance. The room was cramped (too many beds) and cold - no heating. The bathroom/showers were on the next floor up and were not clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities but no milk. I asked the person in the office if she could order me a taxi for the next day and she told me to do it myself but there was no phone in my room.
She knocked off work at 10pm and there was no-one on duty until 7am. That meant I couldn't ask for an early morning call as I had to rise at 4am to catch my 9. 15am flight back to Hobart. This meant that from about 1. 30am onwards I woke every hour to check my watch. I paid extra for a luxurious hotel room with bathroom, phone etc. For 3 people in San Francisco and got free breakfast and shuttle service to train and airport.
Excellent. Not enough time to enjoy it all though.
