Staff was friendly and helpful; hotel was surprisingly quiet despite being located on a fairly busy road; reasonably well maintained; well located for convenience shopping and public transport. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone unless they wanted super deluxe accommodation. (in which case they wouldn't be seeking common sense advice anyway).

The apartment itself was of a high quality. Ours was a 2bdrm/2bthrm apartment that stayed 3 adults (one couple) comfortably. Facilities were good and operated as expected. Apartment is in a excellent location in the city and is very secure. Staff were very helpful.
Was unhappy with the state when we first arrived: No toilet paper, hairs in the bathtub, toilet cleaner leaking in bathroom, holes in bed sheets. Mostly minor, but would expect these things to not be there for the premium prices paid.
When the cleaning service was carried out, bathtub still had original hairs in it, the replaced linen was a bit old and stained and dishes were put away unclean and still wet.
The curtains are long peices of white paper so the apartment/bdrms are very light at all times. Although on the 34th floor, still quite noisy from the streets below, though not enough to hinder sleeping.

Go to Youmei Japanese restuarant in Capitol Square on the next block. It will change your life (the Karaage Chicken is our favourite).

Comfortable, well maintained, close to the rocks markets. Nice view of the opera house.
The rocks markets on the weekends. The argyle a great pub and other bars in the area. Also the pancakes on the rocks great for any time of the day!

We had only one problem that ruined our stay at Menzies, the hotel was lovely, breakfast was fantastic. We got back to the hotel around 12 midnight after a night out in Sydney which was great. We settled into bed and our room was quite cool so we tried to put the heather on which didn't appear to heat the room up all night. We looked for a blanket in the cupboard but there was nothing. There was a sheet on the bed and no blanket.
We froze the whole night and didn't sleep very well.
